Structural Balance

Structural Balance is the balance of the muscular skeletal system of the body. Put simply, it’s the fine tuning of the muscles in the body.

Throughout the average lifespan of any human being, our bodies are put through many challenging phases. Whether you lead an active lifestyle, or a more sedentary, just like a car, our muscles need to be fined tuned and brought back into top form.

An unbalanced exercise program, sport, injury, posture or inactivity can result in muscular imbalance – leaving muscles working at suboptimal levels, which in turn leads to a tired and dysfunctional body. Moreover, wrong muscles are recruited to do another muscles job – creating faulty movement patterns that may leave another extra stress on the body.

Left unattended, these imbalances may lead to back pain, neck pain, shoulder instability and an array of injuries and feeling of discomfort.

Structural balance is vital in order to prevent injury, ensure correct movement patterns and best of all, giving the body a sense of well being – as any finetuned body should feel!
